The second Resource Wende Conference will build on the important work of The Club of Rome and highlight the hypothesis that underpins the Resource Wende programme: worldwide resource reserves and supply volumes are unable to meet the growing demand.
Based on scientific studies and systemic modelling, the programme promotes an alternative systemic scenario to address the eminent resource crisis, already foreseen 50 years ago in The Limits to Growth report commissioned by The Club of Rome where the authors warned that energy and material resources are finite.
On 31 May, during the morning Plenary session, Sandrine Dixson-Declève, Co-President of The Club Of Rome and co-author of Earth4All and Carlos Alvarez Pereira, Vice-President of The Club of Rome and co-editor of Limits and Beyond, will delve further into public-private alternative solutions that reduce resource demand while accelerating sustainability transitions.
