The Club of Rome is an organising partner at the Beyond Growth 2024 Conference in Italy which will bring together top-level politicians, academics, activists and citizens from different backgrounds to explore alternative visions and sustainable solutions to incessant economic growth.
We are at a critical crossroads. The multidimensional and multi-sectoral crises threatening the foundations of planetary and human life necessitate the exploration of alternatives to never-ending economic growth. This two-day event will critically explore the paradigms of sustainable development, post-growth and degrowth, addressing urgent issues such as the climate and ecological crisis, the reorganisation of work, welfare and care in a degrowth economy and the importance of translation into concrete action.
Speakers will include: Kate Raworth, Economist and lecturer at the University of Oxford and member of The Club of Rome and Lorenzo Fioramonti, Founding Director of the Institute for Sustainability of the University of Surrey, member of The Club of Rome.
Location: The conference will be held in two locations on consecutive days.
