Supriya Singh is an Indian expert and leader of corporate sustainability strategy, governance, partnership approaches and creating impact at scale. With over 18 years of global experience in business, civil society and academia, she is known for triggering transformations within organizations and in communities. Her bold, nuanced and innovative approach towards internal change management in corporate sustainability, including engaging C-suite, board directors and non-business actors, has led to significant changes on the ground, making her one of the leading practitioners in her field.
As the Global Head of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) at Tata Communications (part of the Tata Group), she successfully managed to move CSR beyond compliance into corporate strategy and organisational culture. Leading youth programs at The Energy and Resources Institute, she carried out pioneering work in partnership with corporate and international organisations in the field of Youth Training and Education for Sustainable Development. A passionate lifelong learner and natural orchestrator, Supriya has a strong desire to investigate the world. Soon after the Civil War ended in Sri Lanka, she was invited by the Government of Sri Lanka and UNESCO to provide consultation on post-conflict peace building for quality and innovation in education. She combines boardroom engagement with extensive grassroots experience including working in sensitive areas like Kashmir and as an expeditioner to Antarctica as part of the 2041 International Antarctic Expedition.
Supriya is currently on an academic sojourn, carrying out doctoral research on multi-stakeholder partnerships for sustainability transformations at the Friedrich Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg, Germany. She also serves as a board member of the Zurich based, 36×36 Association dedicated to creating a network of women changemakers invested in transforming the current discourse on economy and sustainability. She holds a Diploma in Business Sustainability and Responsible Leadership from the Swedish Institute, Stockholm and MPhil and MA degrees in International Relations from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.
Supriya is on the 2018 Global Listing of Most Impactful CSR Leaders managed by the CSR World Congress. The Women Economic Forum awarded her the ‘Woman of Excellence’ award in recognition of her contribution to the field of CSR in India. Supriya is one of the most noted voices on sustainability and leadership and is regularly invited to speak at different conferences and forums. She divides her time between India and Germany.
