Onyia, Chidi

Prof. Chidi Onyia who is currently the Managing Director for the United Kingdom Nigeria Infrastructure Facility – a £70 million pounds technical assistance support for infrastructure development in Nigeria has in his career of over 25 years built a wealth of experience in change management and leadership, infrastructure development, institutional reforms and sustainable public sector performance; and currently implements major change management projects for Nigeria State governments and private sector organisations on strengthening internal processes that can lead to significant performance and attitudinal change.

He was formally the Lead strategy advisor for the Federal Government of Nigeria – World Bank Power Sector Recovery programme and the DFID Funded national economic policy development programme anchored through the offices of the Vice President of Nigeria and Nigeria Sovereign Investment Agency. He has served the Nigerian government in various capacities notably as the Chief of Staff to the Honourable Minister of Power (2012 – 2015) as well as on various boards including the World Bank International Advisory Board on the Nigerian STEP-B project, US Department of Education Advisory Board on Teacher Incentive Program, and the OrgLearning Group. Prof. Chidi has received numerous international and national awards for leadership excellence and for his outstanding contribution to the education sector. He is a well published educational consultant, researcher, presenter and author of many books.
