Nnoli-Edozien, Ndidi

Dr Nnoli initiated the Sustainability and Governance Function at Africa’s largest business conglomerate, Dangote, where she served as the Group Chief Sustainability and Governance Officer from March 2017 till June 2020. Under her leadership, Dangote Cement developed its first GRI certified, globally benchmarked Sustainability Report in 2018, spanning 10 African countries, unveiled at the Nigerian Stock Exchange as the first fully compliant report in 2019. Her mandate was to lead the effort to integrate Sustainability Thinking, Doing and Reporting across the Group, which she achieved by building a Sustainability Culture anchored in people (800 Sustainability Champions) and values (her SevenPillars Methodology). She was previously engaged at the Lagos Business School/Pan-Atlantic University, with responsibility for Public-Private partnerships, Ethics, Sustainability and Social Entrepreneurship. She served as a nominee Director for the World Bank/IFC and co-chairs the Private Sector Advisory Group on SDGs. She founded the Growing Businesses Foundation in 1999, which serves corporates like Unilever, MTN, Mobil and Citi in building sustainable local economies at the Bottom of the Pyramid. She initiated Rising Tide Africa, to harness women angel networks, investment and mentoring to transform Africa. She is an alumni of Wharton and the London School of Economics, a Reinhard Mohn Fellow of Bertelsmann AG, and obtained her doctorate degree from Johann Wolfgang Goethe University, Frankfurt in 2006. She is a published author and speaker. She started her career at FSDH, subsequently founding the SecTrust (Afrinvest) Asset Management Division, and serving the Public Sector as Director, Strategy & Monitoring, Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) and Presidential Committee on Job Creation. She ran a public-private sector consulting firm from 2007 till 2017. She speaks fluent German and conversational French.
