Peter Johnston is an independent policy analyst and Senior Advisor at the European Policy Centre in Brussels. He is a physicist, having undertaken research in Oxford and Carnegie-Mellon Universities, and has worked for over 35 years as a Policy advisor for the OECD, the British Government and the European Commission technology development, energy, environment, research and innovation issues. He has been and is still active in linking science, business and policy development.
Peter has been an active participant in policy initiatives for sustainable development and climate change for over 20 years, in the European Task Force on Innovation and the transition to a Green economy, and has been an active Member of the Club of Rome advising on an integrated approach to innovation, energy, climate, sustainable development and biodiversity. His activities within the Club of Rome have contributed significantly to European policy debates in Brussels.
