Wellbeing Economy Forum in Iceland

Hosted by the Prime Minister of Iceland, Bjarni Benediktsson, and the Minister of Health, Willum Þór Þórsson, the Wellbeing Economy Forum is a key part of the Joint Action Prevent Non-Communicable Diseases (JA PreventNCD) project, co-funded by the Health Programme of the European Union. it will take place on 11-12 June 2024 in Reykjavik, Iceland.

The Forum advocates for an economic system that operates within safe environmental limits and prioritises the collective wellbeing of current and future generations. The forum will bring together politicians, policymakers, business leaders, academics, and practitioners from around the world to foster dialogue and collaboration on the Wellbeing Economy framework.

Members of the Club of Rome including Co-President Sandrine Dixson-Declève, Vala Kristín Ragnarsdottir, Katherine Trebeck, and Lorenzo Fioramonti, will engage in discussions on integrating wellbeing priorities into public budgeting, exploring the nexus between health and prosperity, and addressing global health challenges. The forum aims to create sustainable wellbeing for all, in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
