At the heart of the discussion is the recognition that the world’s first global stocktake, which will take stage at COP28, presents a pivotal moment in our collective efforts to combat climate change. While the Paris Agreements set forth ambitious goals and commitments to limit global warming to a 1.5 scenario, the metrics are depicting a disheartening reality: many countries and corporate strategies are falling short of what is required to keep us on track towards a sustainable future. Sandrine Dixson-Declève, Co-President of The Club of Rome will join experts to tackle these questions and explore the necessary steps for ensuring that the pace for climate action in the coming years is on the right track and that the needle keeps moving in the right direction, especially in the Global South which trails far behind.
