Earth4All: Brazil

Published 2025 – This report applies Earth4All to the national context of Brazil. Earth4All is an international initiative to accelerate the systems change we need for an equitable future on a finite planet. The project has brought together economic thinkers, scientists and advocates to explore how to achieve wellbeing for all within planetary boundaries this century, with its findings detailed in the book Earth for All: A Survival Guide for Humanity.

Earth4All: Brazil applies systems modelling and expert analysis to explore future scenarios for the country and how to accelerate Brazil’s transition to a climate-resilient, equitable economy. The report finds that social cohesion, institutional trust, and inclusive governance are as decisive for climate progress as renewable energy or forests. It shows how five extraordinary turnarounds in poverty, inequality, empowerment, food and energy could enable Brazil to eradicate poverty before 2040, expand renewables and build resilience to future shocks in a “Giant Leap” scenario. The findings highlight that when fairness and trust increase, resistance to change falls —creating the political and social space for bold climate action.
