Hudson is a member of the Board of Directors (and past President) of the U.S. Association for the Club of Rome. He was a full member of the Club of Rome for 5 years.
Hudson joined the University of California Lawrence Livermore National Laboratoryas a physicist in 1961. While at the Lab, he chaired the newly created Futures Planning Council of the Episcopal Diocese of California. In 1972, he left LLNL to join Science Applications, Inc (now SAIC and Leidos) in La Jolla, CA. He later joined a series of high technology start-ups in the San Diego area, which were all acquired by other companies. In 1998 Dr. Hudson founded a new company to provide implementation services to companies using SAP software. This company, Business Information Solutions, was sold to Sapient Corporation in 2005.
He has served as an independent consultant to the Rand Corporation, LLNL, Sandia, SAIC, and other companies. He has managed hardware, software and study projectsrelated to weapon systems, arms control, and international security policy,
He is a member of the International Institute for Strategic Studies and served as a Director of the Tenzin Gyatso Institute for Wisdom and Compassion, which producedfour international conferences on Empathy and Compassion in Society; two in London, one in San Francisco, and one in Oslo.
Hudson holds a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Virginia, and a BS in Physics (With Highest Honor) from Georgia Institute of Technology.
