Finkbeiner, Frithjof

Frithjof Finkbeiner is a German entrepreneur and co-founder of both the Global Marshall Plan Foundation and the Global Contract Foundation, chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Desertec Foundation and Vice-President of the German Association of the Club of Rome.

As a student, Frithjof was an active member of AIESEC and coordinated the setting up of Rotaract in Germany. By 1994 he realized that social responsibility cannot be limited to single actions, but requires standing up together to change the global framework. Since then, Frithjof has devoted himself to the enterprise “humankind”, and to the question of how to balance the world. Frithjof and his wife Karolin live in Uffing, Bavaria and have three children. Felix, their son, became inspired by Wangari Maathai and aged just 9 launched a global student initiative dedicated to tree planting. Frithjof and Karolin then founded the Plant-for-the-Planet Foundation to empower children and youth.
