Manning, Edward W. (Ted)
Dr. Edward W. (Ted) Manning is President of Tourisk Inc., based in Ottawa Canada, planning environmentally and culturally sensitive areas and reduction of the ecological and social footprint of human activities worldwide. He was lead author for the UN World Tourism Organization Guidebook on Indicators of Sustainable Development for Tourism Destinations and is an expert advisor on community and tourism development to several UN agencies.
He served as Director Sustainable Development consulting for the Government of Canada, President of the Canadian Association of Geographers, and as an Adjunct Research Professor at Carleton University. He has also been Associate Director Sustainable Development of the Foundation for International Training and Chair of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Association for the Club of Rome.
He has published 23 books and over 100 articles on sustainable development, community and destination management, land use and environmental planning topics. His website can be found here.
