Janssen, Daniel



Baron Daniel Janssen is Honorary Chairman of the Solvay Group, was Chairman of the Board of Directors of Solvay S.A. (1998-2006) and Chairman of the Executive Committee (1986-1998). Previously, he was Vice-Chairman of the Board of UCB (1984-2006), a Belgian pharmaceutical company, where he worked from 1962 to 1984 and of which he was Chairman of the Executive Committee from 1975 to 1984, before joining Solvay.

He is a member of the Trilateral Commission and a Trustee of Friends of Europe. He has been for many years a member of the Executive Committee of the Bildenberg meetings, of the Trilateral Commission and of the European Round Table of Industrialists. He was a member of the Club of Rome from 1968 to 1986, and Honorary Member since 1986.

Baron Daniel has an education in civil engineering, nuclear physics and business administration.
