Dako, Francis

Francis Dako is a lawyer at the Bar Association of Benin, where he has been practising since December 1998. Over the years he has built a career rooted in justice, human dignity and the unwavering defence of human rights. From 2005 to 2015, he served as Regional Director for the Coalition for the International Criminal Court. In that role, he worked tirelessly to advance the principles of international justice and to ensure that the fight against impunity remained a global priority.

His commitment to human rights spans more than four decades and remains the driving force behind his work. As a member of the Benin Bar Association for the past five years, he has actively contributed to efforts that strengthen the legal profession and safeguard the rights of citizens. Throughout his career, he has engaged in numerous initiatives aimed at promoting peace, justice and the protection of fundamental freedoms.

Guided by a deep sense of justice and a willingness to listen to those in need, Dako strives to be a legal advocate and a voice for the voiceless. He remains committed to helping shape a society that is fair, inclusive and rooted in the rule of law, both in Benin and beyond. Dako’s work is in line with his vision of a just, sustainable and balanced world.
