One of the Club of Rome's guidelines is "Think global, act local". It had been agreed upon to strengthen its work on a regional level. Thus it had been decided on the 1998 annual conference in Quito, to establish Regional Support Centres. The task of the Regional Support Centres will be to promote the mission of the Club of Rome within their regions. In Vienna, Austria, the European Support Centre was established as the first of its kind. So it will act as a pilot project.
