Zhang, Haohan



In the academic field, Haohan Zhang is mainly engaged in research about metropolitan areas, regional and urban economies, global economy as well as China’s macroeconomic trends and sustainable development, the Yangtze River Delta development, and development in Jiangsu. He has presided over than 50 national major projects, and 863 project sub-topics of the Ministry of Science and Technology. Among his publications are more than 30 books and more than 500 articles, covering a wide area of themes in economics, philosophy, literature, management, and natural sciences. He published China’s first major theoretical article on “sustainable modernization” in the People’s Daily Newspaper and China’s first book, on the “Road to Green Sustainable Development”, mainly introducing the practical experience of green development in China.

Among his positions are Former Party Secretary and Executive Vice-chairman of Jiangsu Provincial Social Sciences Association, Member of Jiangsu CPPCC Standing Committee, Deputy Director of Jiangsu Academic Committee. Haohan Zhang is also Consultative Committee Chairman of National Cultural Innovation Fund, Director of the Joint Research Center of the Yangtze River Delta, President of Jiangsu Province Regional Development Research Association, Honorary President of Jiangsu CEFC Science and Technology Strategy Research Institute and Dasheng Agricultural Research Institute. he is part-time Professor for Nanjing University, Nanjing Normal University, Southeast University, Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
