Warner, John

Dr. John Warner is one of the founders of the field of green chemistry. He has published nearly 300 patents, papers and books describing novel and creative approaches to materials innovation that are inspired by, and compatible with, natural ecosystems. His recent inventions in the fields of medicine, personal care products, solar energy, water purification and construction materials are examples of how green chemistry principles can help create practical and sustainable solutions to important technical problems.

After working for the Polaroid Corporation for nearly a decade, John served as tenured full professor at the University of Massachusetts in Chemistry and Plastics Engineering. In 2007 he founded the Warner Babcock Institute for Green Chemistry (with Jim Babcock), a research organization developing green chemistry technologies, and Beyond Benign  (with Dr. Amy Cannon), a non-profit dedicated to sustainability and green chemistry education.
