The Club of Rome provides a challenging yet hugely supportive and well structured internship programme for any aspiring young professional. During my six month placement I was assigned individual projects which gave me the opportunity to gain in depth experience of how a non profit organisation positions itself internationally and communicates its message to such a broad audience.
Working closely with the Secretary General and attending Club of Rome events gave me the scope to meet and build relationships with experts from all over the world who are committed to making a difference and acting on global challenges. Not only was I invited to attend conferences but I was also given the chance to organise such crucial events. In addition, I was involved in the preparation of concept papers, financial reports and presentations and my inputs and thinking were valued and included in different ventures the Club were pursuing. The staff at the Secretariat were hugely encouraging and really made me feel part of the team from day one. They were also extremely supportive in my relocation to Winterthur.
The Club of Rome has provided a big stepping stone towards my professional career and I believe the experience I have gained over the past six months, would undoubtedly be required in any future job I pursue.
