Club of Rome Internships - FAQ
What kind of information should I include in my application?
Include a recent CV and a cover letter. Explain your motivation, any previous experience in Club of Rome related fields of work and clearly link your qualifications to the advertised position.
Should I also send my certificates and diploma?
No. We might ask you to submit your full dossier at a later point of time.
I am an undergraduate/ bachelor student. Can I apply for an internship anyway?
Club of Rome internships involve a range of demanding tasks and considerable level of responsibility. Therefore candidates are expected to have a certain level of academic experience and proficiency. A completed bachelor's degree is the minimum requirement for a Club of Rome internship.
I have already graduated from my university and hold a master's degree. Can I apply for an internship anyway?
If you have graduated within the last 12 months we encourage you to apply.
I am a PhD candidate. Can I apply for an intership?
Yes.
Are Club of Rome internships paid?
The Club of Rome is offering small grants as a contribution to the intern's living expenses in Switzerland. The Club of Rome is not able to cover any further expenses (i.e. accommodation or travel costs). Successful candidates are strongly encouraged to seek additional funding (i.e. scholarships) for their internships. Successful candidates must submit proof of a valid health insurance for the time of their stay.
Do you accept unsolicited applications for internships?
Internship positions are tailored to fit to ongoing and future projects of the Club of Rome. For each internship position the Club of Rome is looking for candidates with a specific profile. For this reason please refrain from general applications. Check the interns section of the Club of Rome web site regularly for updates.
What is the minimum duration of a Club of Rome internship?
We encourage you to apply for a period of about six months. Club of Rome interns are working on demanding tasks and are required to take over responsibility for smaller projects. In order to give interns the opportunity to acquire the respective skills and to make internship a worthwhile experience we encourage candidates to apply for an internship duration of about six months.
Where will I work?
At the Secretariat of the Club of Rome in Winterthur, Canton of Zurich, Switzerland.
Should I contact the Club of Rome to check the status of my application?
No.
You will be informed as soon as the selection process is finalized. The decision-making process may vary from case to case.
What are my chances of employment at the Club of Rome after the internship?
The Internship Programme is not related to employment in the Club of Rome.
I have a specific question concerning visa, health insurance, cost of living, accommodation, travelling etc.
