In commemoration of Eberhard von Koerber

It is with great sadness that we learned of the sudden and unexpected passing of one of our longest serving and most dedicated members, former Club of Rome co-President (2007 – 2012)

Dr. jur. Eberhard von Koerber

11th June 1938 – 3rd August 2017

As well as his remarkable business career, Eberhard von Koerber committed much of his time, energy, humour and resources to many projects and institutions in the voluntary sector. His leadership and long service in the world Scouting movement was a source of great pride as were his many years of service to the Club of Rome, where he was co-President until 2012. His engagement in the Club of Rome was a testimony to his deep concern about the future of mankind and the dangers posed by the shorttermism of both politics and economics. Not only was Eberhard a major benefactor, he was also a man of ideas, diplomacy and vision who knew how to solve problems without rancour. He will be sorely missed by his many friends and colleagues as well as those countless young and not-so-young whom he mentored and
willingly shared his experiences and wisdom.

The Club of Rome will truly miss his leadership and sends its deepest sympathy to his family. Eberhard von Koerber will always be remembered for his selfless and continuous efforts to
insure a better future for humankind and the planet.
