[1]Dr. Susana Chacón is currently Editor in chief of Foreign Policy, Mexican Edition journal. She is also professor at EGAP Graduate Program on Politics and Government, and  at EGADE Business School at the Tecnológico de Monterrey University in Mexico City. She is also Secretary General of the Club of Rome and editorialist of the Mexican newspaper, El Universal and also a member of the World Academy of Arts and Sciences.

 

She has Post-Doctoral studies in International Relations from Georgetown University, and the Barcelona University. She has a Ph.D. in History from the Universidad Iberoamericana; an MA in Public Administration from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, an MA in International Political Economy at the Center for Economic Research and Teaching. C.I.D.E. She holds a degree in International Relations from the Universidad Iberoamericana. She also has two specialties, one in Negotiation from the School of Law at Harvard University, and another in International Negotiation by the JF Kennedy School of Government also at Harvard

 

Dr. Chacon has served as a Research Fellow at the Center for International Studies of the Colegio def Mexico, at Georgetown University, Washington, DC, at the Center for Latin American Studies, Mexico Project at Georgetown University and at the Rockefeller Center Latin American Studies at Harvard University. She is a member of the Mexican National System of Researchers, SNI, level 2.

 

She has being professor of Mexican Foreign Policy and Negotiation and Conflict Resolution at the Matías Romero Institute of Mexican Diplomatic Studies at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Since May 2002, she has being an active member of the Club of Rome, Mexican Section. She is also a member executive committee of the Mexican Council of Foreign Affairs, COMEXI and the Tepoztlan Center. She was General Director of Research at the Tecnológico de Monterrey University, Campus Santa Fe, in Mexico City and Holder of the Chair of Mexican Studies, She also was Director of the Bachelor of International Relations in the Universidad Iberoamericana and Research Assistant at the U.S. Studies Institute at the Center for Research and Teaching in Economics, CIDE.

 

She is the author and coordinator of seven books:

 

- Ideas and Cares of a homeland: Mexico’s Bicentennial, published jointly ITESM and Jose Antonio Porrúa Porrúa

- The U.S. Mexico Relationship (1940-1955), published by the Fondo de Cultura Economica. FCE

 - “Mexico, a space and four scenarios”, published jointly ITESM and Miguel Ángel Porrúa

- “The oil crisis in Mexico,” published jointly by ITESM and the Club of Rome

- “Diplomatic Negotiation: A forgotten art?”, Published jointly ITESM and Miguel Ángel Porrúa.

- Between globalization and dependence: Mexican foreign policy 1994-2000, Published jointly Colegio de Mexico and ITESM..

- Energy, Narcotics and Finance: “The dark side of Mexican foreign policy” Edited by Plaza y Valdés.

 

Susana Chacón also has several book chapters and articles in different journals, and she has being participating since 1988 in several national and international conferences.
