New Co-Presidents Announced

At the Annual Assembly meeting in Bucharest the following decisions were taken:

 

Anders Wijkman (Sweden) and Ernst Ulrich von Weizsäcker (Germany) were elected by the Executive Committee to the positions of Co-Presidents of the Club of Rome.

 

They will take over  from Ashok Khosla (India) and Eberhard von Koerber (Germany) whose terms of office were completed. In completing the handover Ian Johnson, Secretary General of the Club of Rome, thanked Ashok Khosla and Eberhard von Koerber for their dedicated service to the Club and for the leadership they had shown over the past six years and welcomed the appointment of Anders Wijkman and Ernst Ulrich von Weizsäcker :

 

Ashok Khosla and Eberhard von Koerber have made a major contribution to the work and influence of the Club over the past few years and all members attending the meeting thanked them for their service”.  Johnson also welcomed, on behalf of the Club, the appointment of Anders Wijkman and Ernst Ulrich von Weizsäcker noting “ the baton has been passed to two global leaders who will continue the strong leadership of the Club.”

 

Susanna Chacon (Mexico) and Calin Georgescu (Romania) were elected by the General Assembly to serve on the Executive Committee of the Club of Rome.
