Robert Blinc (*October 31, 1933 – † September 26, 2011)

With deepest sympathy the Club of Rome announces the death of Robert Blinc, fellow of WAAS, Associate Member of the Club of Rome and outstanding scientist. He will always be remembered. Professor Blinc was one of the founders of uses of nuclear magnetic resonance for investigations of phase transitions and liquid crystals. He was the head of the Condensed Matter Physics Deparment at the Jožef Stefan Institute of which he became honorary member in 2007.
