The world community is facing major challenges: The foreseeable shortage of essential commodities and resources will fundamentally change our lives. Environmental issues have a wide resonance in politics and the expectations of the population are correspondingly high. We are looking for the “jack of all trades”. Cleantech should revive the economy and simultaneously deliver environmental sustainability. Is faith in the ability of technology to solve the problem justified? Are the climate problem and economic growth mutually excluding each other? In the series “In Conversation: The Earth” Peter Sloterdijk, one of Europe’s leading thinkers, will analyse the question of growth and size. Subsequently Daniel Binswanger will chair a discussion on the question “Do we have to rethink everything?”
